Here at Ignite we were delighted to be approached to create the artwork for Mayo Social Inclusion Awareness Week, taking place from from Monday 16th to Saturday 21st of October in County Mayo. This is a fantastic event which highlights events and initiatives which foster social inclusion throughout County Mayo and is the result of collaboration between Mayo North East based in Foxford, County Mayo and Mayo County Council, head quartered in Castlebar, County Mayo.
The brief for this project was to provide a total design and marketing solution for all aspects of this events which involved website design, brochure design, logo design, e-vite design and pullup banner design.
We started with the logo which consisted of a vector image featuring Mayo coloured hands embracing stylists figures of all colours, shapes and sizes. A simple font finished the design, resulting in a vibrant and stylish brand for the event which epitomised the core values of social inclusion.
We then moved on to the brochure design. The brochure design spec was an 8 page A5 brochure folded to A5. Using the colours from the logo, we divided all the text into daily events, each colour coded to make them easily and logically read by the target audience. As there was quite a lot of text our challenge was to ensure that the brochure design was still visually appealing and not cluttered, which we achieved through the colour coding feature. We also used an attractive colourful image on the front cover which was continued as a border throughout the interior of the brochure. We felt the colours on this image greatly complimented the logo and gave the brochure an overall fun and inclusive feel. The brochure was printed on 170g gloss paper which gave a nice feel of quality to the overall look.
Once the brochure design was complete we progressed to the website design which consisted of uploading the brochure event details and converting them to an online platform, in this case wordpress, to create a fully responsive and easily used site to showcase this fantastic event. The overall design of the website was kept consistent with the brochure design resulting in a sleek and professional appearance to the entire project.
The finishing touch for the event was the pull-up banners which were again created consistent with the brochure cover and were kept simple without too much content so that they could be used for the event in coming years. All of our pull-up banners are printed on great quality and long lasting banner material and provided with an easy to use carry case for easy transportation to all events.
We really enjoyed this project and were delighted to be given the opportunity to work on it. Both ourselves and the client, in this case, Mayo North East, felt that the solution perfectly fulfilled the brief, a result we try to achieve in all of our projects! We hope to work with Mayo North East and Mayo County Council on many more projects in the future.
